Hit ctrl-F1, definitely more options. Set my ram timings manually to 4-4-4-12. System posted, made it to windows loading, but immediately afterward restarted itself. Bad RAM?

Alright I flashed to latest BIOS, but now setting memory timings is proving to be difficult with this particular BIOS. It's an Award setup, and the only place where I can adjust any frequencies is the "MB Intelligent Tweaker(M.I.T.)" menu. There it allows me to adjust Memory Multiplier (SPD)...

I bought this board paired with an Intel E2160 with the intentions of overclocking straight out of the box. Well I'm having some issues. I can't get the 1.8mhz stock chip to reach any higher than 2ghz even with a generous voltage bump (1.325 default up to 1.425) It's running on stock cooling...

My E2160 won't o/c at all!

So I got my new system today. Hooked it up and it's running just fine. But ONLY at stock vcore and frequency. I try bumping the FSB to 201x9 and I get no post. Even if I bump the vcore to 1.35, 1.375, and 1.4. No post. I've tried 201x9, 210x9, 220x9, 233x9, all with many different voltages up...

E2XXX vs. E4XXX for the budget gamer

Basically as the topic states. I am looking to pull the trigger on an intel system mainly for gaming for the next year or so and I don't plan on really fiddling with Crysis at all. My question is, will it make a huge difference in stepping up from, say, an E2160 (overclocked to a cool 3.2ghz)...

In saying that the price/performance was higher, I guess I wasn't speaking in literal terms. I meant more along the lines of "I can actually buy a decent AMD CPU for 80-100 bucks instead of dropping 150+ dollars for an Intel chip." But, just for the sake of my eventual conversion to Intel...
