AMD64 3000+ OC good temps?

actually i think i am running 1T as i look @ it, a64 tweaker says 2T timing enabled, but after reading around it appears that enabled = 1T? (confused) Also anything else you can think of to improve performance? BTW i'm using Arctic Ceramique thermal paste, so i doubt AS5 will do that much...

AMD64 3000+ OC good temps?

Ok, quick question, i cant seem to go above 2.4Ghz, not saying thats bad at all but, any suggestions on how to get more out of my CPU? I tried clocking my ram @ DDR133 and HT @ 1x to see how far i could go with CPU alone but i still hit the same wall. Would changing my ram timing have ANY...

AMD64 3000+ OC good temps?

Well i ran prime95 overnight and it crashed after about an hour, so i boosted my vcore to 1.65 from 1.625 and its been going for 2 hours now, i think its gonna be completely stable. 32C idle 58C load with the higher vcore. Forgot to mention this is a Socket 754 A64 3000+ Newcastle.

Ok, ill do that tonight, i ran prime for 30min and it didnt crash, boosted FSB to 245 and it crashed in 5min, so 2.4Ghz it is! (btw there are 3 prime torture tests, is there one of those 3 i should use to test the CPU for stability?)

AMD64 3000+ OC good temps?

Just recently fixed my problems with overclocking where i couldnt get above 2.04Ghz, now running @ 2.4Ghz :). My system is running 31C on idle and 56C on load, not sure if thats bad or good. i have my DDR400 ram running @ DDR333 speed, and my LDT @ x4. AMD 64 3000+ newcastle with a Zalman...

Bad Mobo?

Update: Found an option on my mobo to scale my memory back to DDR333 and it stopped all the problems, also i can OC w/ complete stability now! Yay! Currently @ 2.4Ghz with my AMD64 3000+ and seems completely stable yay!

I really cant see how that would make a difference at all, the fan controller is just a thing that resists the voltage given to the CPU fan in order to slow it down or speed it up, the problem appears to be that any voltage ANYWHERE on the mobo is bleeding into the line out port, running prime95...

Dunno, im sure it does but i'm not switching them again, turning on my comp sounds like a damn modem dialing up its so bad, and i found that adjusting my CPU fan speed w/ my controls in front also changes the pitch of the sounds. Also im using AC'97 Onboard sound if you hadent guessed

ok, none of the above helped, also i just recently realized there is ALOT of static in my front speakers port when using passive speakers, the ones i was using before were powered and i plugged in a pair of headphones and it was awful, moving the mouse causing so much popping etc... Any more...

Athlon 64 Temperature Threshold

well the strange thing is my mobo reports two different temperatures, ive pasted this before but no one seemed to awnser me, Sometime it says i idle @ 55C and max at 70C, other times it says idle @ 28C and max at 38C, the temp sensor i have on the front of my case that i taped onto the bottom...

Well, i reapplied my thermal paste and my load temps dropped about 7 deg so i guess that was my problem, i hadnt put nearly enough paste on there, i took a "thin" layer too seriously and put almost NOTHING on the core =D

Athlon 64 Temperature Threshold

My A64 seems to be running much hotter than yours, its an Athlon 64 3000+ Newcastle core @ 2040 Mhz 1.5V, it idle's around 58-59C, but under load with my Zalman 7000 and 4 case fans in my Thermaltake III Lanfire case it runs at 68-69C, Now a strange thing i find is when i turn all my fans from...

Looking For A Good Heatsink!

I have the Zalman 7000 and i <3 it, it runs basicly silently, and ive never had the need to run the fan anything faster than the minimum settings
