Gamers: Win 10 vs Win 7

I compared CS:GO on 7, 8.1 and 10. 10 consistently had the lowest frame rate, around 4% less fps than 7 and 8.1 (which were the same). Not much at all, but there you have it. I don't really play other games so I didn't test them.

How many of you are OS holdouts / luddites? Still clinging to your favorite OS?

Not officially. That is, Microsoft doesn't provide a way to do that in Windows 10. Some third party apps might be able to disable it, but who knows what they really do. I don't think any serious company/agency would want to use them.

I did an upgrade 7 to 10 recently and it shrunk the C partition and created a 450MB "Recovery Partition". (When you manually do a clean install, you can avoid both the Recovery Partition and the System Restore partition.)

You can still install quarterly drivers, without any additional software. I don't think having a CP for graphics is fundamental at all. There are also various other tools if you want to do some tweaking. Or in the worst case, switch from Nvidia to something else. Both are easier than ditching...

AFAIK you can avoid the telemetry updates in Windows 7 and 8 by simply not enabling CEIP. So if you don't have CEIP enabled you can install "telemetry updates" and they'll do nothing. Here's an article about it...
