Windows 2000 running slow

when was the last time you ran defrag??? also get yourself a copy of nortons utilities it will help clean out your register and many other things. maybe it's time for a reload

Strange Multiplier Effects

I gather you umlocked using a pencil, rub it clean and try again. i had the same problem, you might have to try a few times to get it right.

up the voltage. also have you tried it at default speed, could be windows is stuffed, reload!

pull everything out and reseat it all and reset your cmos, if that doesn't help them it sounds like a new motherboard for you

what memory can I use???

a friend wants to upgrade her gateway machine. it's P133 and the motherboard uses the VX chipset and sdram. can I use new PC133 memory in it or do I have to find some old PC66 heres the specs on the board Intel 586 PCi

Still having cooling problems...

do you have case cooling??? get some 120 mm fans in there! yeah asus has problems with temps, bios update usually fixes it

disabling the fan on my CPU

yeah but those oem systems have wind tunnels and massive heatsinks, instead ofa fan, but there s still a fan involved. you could do it, have good cooling in your case, maybe a fan from your power supply blowing on it and a exhaust fan sucking off it

service pack killed office 2000

is there any way I can get around it. i open word and it works for about 5 seconds then closes up. I heard that service pack 1 kills copys of pirated office 2000.

a celeron 700 is different to a 500, diff cores. I don't think you'll get much of a overclock out of it

Question about swapping from p3 to t-bird

I've done the same thing and found my system clawed and had way too many problems. format unless you want to delete everything in device manager and then delete all the old drivers in your windows dir, probably fatser just to wipe and start a fresh
