Who uses 1280x1024?

You have adjusted to it. I ran it for a few weeks and it started making me buggy because i do a lot of photo editing and such, and i KNOW thats not what the picture looked like. I have gone back to 1152x864.

Bought LCD... big let down.

I had a 19" (roughly, it was da big one) Planar here for a week, running on the DVI output of my 8500.... and Man-O-Man was it awsome ! I was even amazed at how good it did in games (played quite a bit of Q3 MOHAA and Alice on it). The color made my 19" Trinitron look sick too. I was really...

Best deal on Radeon 8500 retail(275/275) where??

Two weeks ago today i got mine at Best Buy for $199 minus a $50 mail in and $10 instant rebate... $139 after rebates... Plus their 30 day price match and return policies.

Where to buy Enermax PSUs?

How about $49 for a 350 watt Enermax whisper ? www.mpcparts.com They should have them in stock, they have piles of them at each of the branch stores.

MOHAA crashing with Radeon 8500/Epox 8KHA+

MOHAA has an issue where it want's you to be online even when you are going into single player mode. I was ready to fly my disk out the window when i bought it, but this is in the ReadMe file in the game. (i had this problem on my radeon 64ddr and my 8500, using the 9009 and experimenting...

Post here if your radeon 8500 doesn't freeze

Had it a little over a week, but it has been getting a ton of use... not a problem yet. windoze ME, 9009 driver, 1g athlon oc'ed to 1.25. I have been playing tons of Q3 plus varying amounts of Alice, max payne, RTCW, MOHAA, Tribes2, NFS5... I had to tweek the direct3D settings for some games...

Aluminum Front Panels?

The local shop where i bought my PC-65 has them, just started carrying them last week, packaged from LianLi. I bought one for the floppy, but it didn't fit the shape of my bezel. They have em for CD drives too. The shop (regional chain) is Milwaukee PC. they do mail order, and carry a lot more...

Enermax Power Supply and Lian-Li case?

PC-65, 465 whisper. I fliped the plate, and everything dropped right in. Mine had the extra holes already in it (case is very recent production, they must have figured it out).

Help with CD Writer!!

I do it all the time with no problems and friends of mine freak out over it. I have burn proof and a boatload of ram (1.5gig). CloneCD shows the buffer states on the fly, and rarely does the buffer react any differently than when it is the only operation going on.

Radeon LE & NFS5 Problem

You need to go into the driver properties under the Direct 3D tab and change "Z buffer bit depths" from '16,24' to '16,24,32' and it will work with 32 bit color. This is on the ATI website, do a search for "game issues" . Also, you will have to de-select "compressed texture format" and...

can you overclock a radeon 64mb VIVO

It's as easy as downloading PowerStrip. You can do it through software with no actual mods to the card at all. I consistantly clocked mine at 200/200 (stock is 183/183) with good results, but i have pretty good case cooling. With some extra cooling to the card, you can have some real speed...

ATI grabs 42% US market share beating Nvidia

Sheeesh, building all those cards, it's no wonder it was difficult to find time to develop drivers ! I'm confused you see, I run an ATI card (8500, just passed my 64 ddr vivo on to my dad), but i own stock in Nvidia... I wish ATI would get to town on their drivers (though i can't complain AT...

How to tell difference between Radeon 8500s?

You can run PowerStrip and it will tell you. My retail 8500 from Best Buy (and what a buy it was @ $139) wasn't set at 275. It was set at 274.5 for both :-)
