I would say check if DMA is enabled in your HD IDE channels in IDE ATA/ATAPI controllers. THor_Sevan

Is there a way to skip windows reinstall after changing motherboard KT333 tp Nforce2 ?

At least it does not go beyond 61 C after 30 min of intensive usage. Maybe the thermal sensors of gigabyte are more accurate and give the exact temperature of the CPU die ? THor_Sevan

Thanks a lot ! I finally installed my new motherboard and everything works fine like before ;) There is one thing though... because before installing the new mobo I changed the IDE controller to standard dual channel PCI IDE controller, now it stayed like that. Is there any new nvidia IDE...

Is there a way to skip windows reinstall after changing motherboard KT333 tp Nforce2 ? I am finally upgrading from an Gigabyte 7VRX to an Gigabyte nforce2 7N400 PRO2 and I was wondering if there is a way to NOT uninstall (format) windows. I was thinking to uninstall all the old motherboard...

Fortunatly I am not planning to use the onboard nic. I'll use my PCI NIC that has been working great for years. I won't have other issues with linux and nforce2 chipset ? Thanks a lot ! Thor_Sevan
