Thats not a technicality ... a technicality is getting caught doing 90 on a 55 @ 4am in the morning and having the cop write down 9:30am & the wrong road on the ticket. That was a funny one ...
Thats odd .. i didnt know the 5200 was that bad... I have almost an identical system to yours (cept 2500+ instead of 2400+) but using a 9600 Pro ($160) and i get upwards of 14K+ in 3dMark2001 w/default (1024x768x32) settings.
possibly because you have the side door opened and a fan blowing on it ...
when I open my case to fix things/look at things while the computer is running, case and CPU temps drop by like, 3-5C, and thats without AC or a fan blowing into it ...
Megatomic, thats weird ... i'm running a rig similar to yours but i get 31,665.
Epox 8RDA+ rev 1.1
Barton 2500+
ATI Radeon 9600 Pro
512MB Corsair PC3200 11-3-3-2.5
Title is pretty self-evident ... assuming price is no concern and the 9600 Pro in question is the 128mb one, not the 256mb. This is for a friend, as I already have a 9600 Pro .. :D
Discuss .. and give reasons why.
Ehh .. my 9600 Pro is overclocked to 530/330 right now as opposed to 400/300 stock. I dont want to push it without a probe there to moniter temps ... i'm confident it can go higher cause it hasnt offered any resistance so far. Right off the bat i pushed it to 500/330, then 530/330, looped...
Well, hopefully you'll be able to hit 2500+ speeds considering you're gonna be using a 2500+ barton ... Haha, anyhow, i'm gonna assume you meant 3200+ ... and i'd have to say I believe so. I used to run 185x12.5 on stock cooling (2312mhz), which'll give you 3200+. Good luck !
K .. 200x11.5 @ 1.8 , 39-40 idle, 50 full load (Prime95 torture test, Sandra burn-in, assorted programs running in background). Hmm I can hit 207x11.5 @ 1.825 though ... hmmm 80 Mhz, .025 voltage .. eh, i guess its not really worth it. Not like i'd notice the difference :P
Hello, I've been a lurker here for some time but joined because I have some questions on my current overclock.
Right now i'm running a 2500+ Barton, 2403 Mhz (209x11.5) @ 1.85 VCore. Temps are 41-42 idle and 50-51 full load. Timings are 2-2-2-6 on corsair PC3200 value select (i know, i know...
