I can load windows with the 7300 GT. I decided to take a chance that it wouldn't crash mid bios flash.
I went from the orignal 2005 bios to the newest one from 10-22-2008. That is only the second update the first was to support Nvidia 7900 cards and the second was to disable PCI prefetech...
One of our PCs at work had the 7300 GT overheat after the fan died. I replaced the fan but it was still crashing all the time (BSOD refering to the nv4_disp file). I didn't have better luch with different drivers, so I decided to replace it.
I went with an ATI 5450. But, I can't get the pc...
The Abit AN8 Fatal1ty (Nforce4) will be the best gaming/overclocking 939 board when it comes out. They removed a lot of the unused ports and added the best cooling system I've seen on any mobo. They aren't giving out much info yet, but I've been sold on it for months.
Here is some pics of the...
That's why I'm waiting. I don't like any of the NF3 boards and I'll die before I buy a VIA. I'm a big fan of ABIT and their Fatal1ty board is going to kick major ass.
I'm completely replacing my current system and I want to make most of it last for 4 years. With a 939/PCI-E system, I have no...
I love how whenever anyone talks about PCI-E there is always a bunch of people that assume that their current system is fine and tell them not to just upgrade the mobo/vid card.
Personally, I have a 1ghz P3, Intel mobo, 512mb ram, and a GF4 4600 Ti. I can't upgrade anything or even overclock...
Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. Why up the voltage on the 3000 and not the 3500? I haven't done much overclocking, but I don't see why you wouldn't be able to hit higher speeds with one that started higher.
The only thing wrong with your video card is that your PCU is too slow and bottlenecking it (read the anandtech Doom 3 review). If Nforce4 doesn't end up having an AGP version, get a 939 NF3 board for around $100 and a 3200+ CPU for around $255 and you will be happy for a couple years. 939 is...
I don't think it is going to have SATA 2. I know I read something about when that would be out and can't remember what it said.
I know that Nforce4 adds a couple more USB and SATA ports over what NF3 has. I think it has 10 USB and 8 SATA.
It is hard to sort through the rumors and facts for Nforce4. I'm waiting for it and I spend a lot of time looking for any info on it I can find. It sounds like Nvidia will make an announcement on Nforce4 in the next 7 to 10 days. So, that should clear most things up.
1. Some lists show an...
There is only 20 channels for PCI-E. For SLI, there is 2 16x connectors and it will run at 16x with one card. If you put 2 cards in, they each run in 8x. Don't wory, that is more than enough bandwidth for years to come.
