Toshiba Laptop w/o internal CD/Floppy problems

I have been tasked with troubleshooting a Toshiba Dynabook 2110 note book. This machine does not have an internal CD/DVD-ROM or Floppy, nor can the current bios allow booting from USB device. The dynabook website is all in japanese so I can't find much on there useful. This machine has...

Gateway machine, high pitch noise, doesnt boot

I think i will end up having to do that, i wish the case wasnt so proprietary, the psu bought couldnt even mount correctly, oh well, thanks!

the noise appears to of been coming form the motherboard itself, i got a brand new powersupply, there is no high pitch noise anymore, but nothing happens when i power on

win98 setup appears after boot

We got tired of waiting so we entered the correct information, then it said thanks for entereing the information, then it gave a network and machine login prompt, after those were entered it gave an explorer error and all i can see is the mouse cursor and the wallpaper, with no programs running...

win98 setup appears after boot

I have the following scenario: Someone I know reboots their win98 machine, after using VoloView(Autodesk product) and it crashes for whatever reason. When they reboot, the win98 setup wizard or what appears to be the setup wizards prompts him for name and company, then serial #. There is no cd...

shorted?

i dont hear anything when i try and turn it on, the ps fans dont spin(they didnt before i did the jumper reset either though) the processor and ram settings were setup correctly after the first jumper reset i did, they worked fine, until i gave it back to him.

shorted?

I am trying to fix a pc for a friend of mine, the following is what happened... Directx wasnt working on his pc, and he didnt have anything on his computer he needed saving, so i installed XP Professional on it, everything worked. He got home, plugged the mouse in, and the pc didnt work...

dead machine

this morning i woke up to my machine appearing to be dead, somewhat atleast, i usually leave my computer on when i go to bed, i woke up, there was no signal going to my monitor, and the machine wouldnt respond, so now when i reset the machine which i have to cycle the power supply somereason now...
