I was looking into alternate heatsinks, and some seem to like to use their own backplate. But, I think the stock backplate could be used in many of the heatsinks -- but maybe not all. My impression was that it was glued on, but I never loosened the 2 screws so , I never really knew...

Could my PSU cause prime95 to fail? (Neopower 480w)

Oh, I ran memtest too, no problem like for 8 hrs. Prime is the problem. Along with blue screens of crashed code running in the Kernel. (Code running in the Kernel is supposed to be heavily tested, and thus more stable than a program running at a higher level in the system). But blue screens...

Thanks for the correction. I was tired when I wrote that, and corrected my post above to reflect the correct voltages I observed. The windows based Asus flash utility won't let me flash to earlier dated bios and says I need to use some sort of DOS thing. Sounds like you Asus flash utility...
