And in any case, the curent generation (Radeon X1xxx and nVidia 7xxx) have WAY better video scaling/smoothing/rendering capabilities. When i say video, I mean video, not graphics. MPEG2, WMV etc! For anyone using these in a HT setting, they're VASTLY superior to, say, the X800 and nVidia 6600...

Anyone have or know of the Samsung 931b LCD? It's on sale at staples..

why are manual transmissions so much faster accelerating

Excellent post, and important points, Boston Dangler! Although true computer-shifted manuals are out on the (is it called DSG?) gearboxes on Audi's A3, and more Audis and VWs. Still wouldn't convince me to buy one, but the tech is pretty cool! True manual for me until my left knee gives...

Umm - am I the only one getting quite disillusioned by newegg's give-a-discount, but pre-emptively-raise-the-prices tactics? I haven't bothered shopping there in ages, after buying enough parts to assemble 2-3 PCs from there!

Pardon my French - but that's a load of fresh, hot BS. My AT&T service has improved continuously, customer service has been aboutpar for the course and I've continued to get my annual customer retention/new phone discounts as always. 4+ years with ATTWS/Cingular, and still loving it :)

Tempting, but I'm not on the HD bandwagon yet. Not to mention their PVR is a POS. And Comcast will be taking over Adelphia in my zone and introducing TiVo HD-DVRs - hopefully by next year!

Bahh - never mind - the ewiz one is warranted for only 30 days for replacement, 1 year for repair, and is a bulk/open box drive. The ZZF one is the retail packed 5-year warranty - without which over 50cents a GB is excessive anyway ;)
