What CPU are you considering?
I have the IP35 Pro and I know very few who are dissatisfied with it. Not a whole lot of data has been gathered when using it with Penryn, though. For my cousin's build we are pairing a q9450 with it, so we will see how that goes.

I think it is actually called glossy. The alternative is a matte finish. You don't see the terms thrown around as much for desktop monitors, because it is more important for laptop buyers who need a matte finish if they work in bright conditions.
Outlook 2007 is my first email app and I love it. I use it with my exchange email through my school. It couldn't connect when I first tried to set it up due to continuous freezing, and I never found out why. But, I tried again a few days later and it worked and I have had no problems since...
Best thing would be to install a form of linux and play around with the command line. Or better, find a Unix server that will let you have some space to play around with. If you take the class I assume they will give you an acoount.

I hate to be a graphic whore, but how is Dawn of War for widescreen support (particularly 1680x1050). A google search makes it look spotty. Civ 4 also looks to not fare as well with supported resolutions.
I'm leaning toward CoH right now, and I'll definitely look into C&C 3.
