Question to Atheists:

I think this is somewhat close to what the string theory is saying. So its not so far fetched :) This is also what I would have said about the subject. Ironically, the string theory might be impossible to prove (with experiments). Am I some sort of believer for thinking that the theory might be...

I used the default settings. In the instructions page it says that if you have problems, you might try the 'Program All Blocks'. Babefish can translate the page (and the translation makes sense mostly too).

As i wrote earlier in this thread, my solution was to use older Catalyst version (5.11). You might try that too. Just remember to clean out the newer drivers from the disk (delete the ati-folder from disk too). Haven't had any other problems.

Update on my situation. Updated BIOS to 1.90, updated VIA drivers to 5.10A and installed Catalyst 5.11. Now everything seems to be working. Next up: Install the 'new' X800Pro. Fingers crossed :) Edit: X800Pro installed and running ok.

I'm having the same problem as some of you. If I install Catalyst the computer hangs when loading XP. It works with old drivers that were slipstreamed to the XP installation CD I used, those drivers are from 2004. 3dMark2003 can be run ok with those drivers, so there shouldn't be any problems...

USB 2.0 Headaches

Does it work if you boot with the USB HD allready on? I just (last week) bought external IDE->USB2 case by Mapower. There seems to be some bugs in the usb2 detection software: WinXP doesn't always detect it correctly and fouls up the driver loading (it uses winXP's own drivers), the next time...

I keep getting these Messenger Service popup...

Just disable the messenger service from the control panel/services. The service has nothing to do with the messenger program, but it enables the net send and other net commands (type net in cmd prompt to see them all).

unable to boot off cd-rom drive?! and yes i changed the bios

I had the exact same problem with an asus board. We had connected one HD and CD, but the HD was allready formatted to fat32 and the motherboard tried to boot from it everytime. We got it work after removing the HD completely from the boot order in BIOS. After that it would display the normal...

A minimum average framerate petition Edit:HTML Graphs!! Anand's still might be watching. Keep it going!

Count me in for the graphs. I for one would rather have a card that does steady 60 fps than a card that peaks high and low all the time...

Radeon 9700 Pro spontaneous reboots in 3D.

I found out yesterday that the ati optimized defaults setting is the problematic one. But I think that your problem might be something else. The card might be overheating, how is the airflow around the agp slot? Anyway, you can download the rage 3d tweaker and try the different settings yourself.

NEED HELP. New comp. turns on, won't boot up.IMPORTANT UPDATE

Most likely the floppy disk connector cable is connected the wrong way (also check the ide cables). If that doesn't solve the problem, just unplug all of the cables from the hard drives and floppy, after that it should boot to bios... Other problem areas might be faulty processor or faulty...
