Damn it, I think I screwed up when puting my new heatsink on.

Exactly how much did you put on? Try putting a really small dot of TIM in the middle of the processor. (that's what i do)

How does my wiring job look?

Try switching the SATA cable (on the mobo) to the lowest port then pass the rest of the cable into the HDD bay. Also try moving your USB cable to the bottom of the mobo section of the case and then secure with cable routers and zip-ties

E8500 @ 4.7ghz on Air. holy crap.

Are these clocks even practical? What would we use a 4.4Ghz for? And let's even factor in that this test was some sort of suicide run. Let's say we just had a clock of 4.0Ghz stable. What could utilize the speed (to its utmost potential)?

Anyone had any trouble installing the Artic Cooling Freezer 7

wait! you don't have to! you can just use a screwdriver and turn the push pins in the direction of the arrow. After that pull the pins out of the hole and rotate the Heatsink then voila. its out.

Best way to apply thermal compound?

Ah yes. The age old debate. I, personally, do the following: -clean both the heatsink and CPU with Alcohol and lint free cloth -place a blob of AS5/MX-2 the size of half a grain of rice on the CPU -plop down my ACFreezer -lightly rotate the heatsink to get all the air bubbles out...

The Northbridge Stock Cooling

There's this really tenacious "crap" on the bottom of my northbridge heatsink. When I was replacing the TIM for better heat transfer (used ceramique) I just used alcohol to clean off the pink stuff. Then I realized that the pink stuff wouldn't come off. I tried to scrape most of it off with a...

Case fans

Yeah I used Antec Tricools and they were ok. nothing special, but they're kinda loud. I wouldn't recommend getting them. What I WOULD recommend: D12SM-12 (medium) http://jab-tech.com/YATE-LOON-120mm-Case-Fan-D12SM-12-Medium-Speed-pr-3770.html IMO, the medium would be your best bet...
