fine midrange, its no 1ghz ( but OC it might get close ;-)), and its not a 3000 dollar pc

On the cd/dvd stuff, will a decent MX card support hardware decoding of DVD, and trying to save money, do you have any idea if those DVD?CDRW combos are worth the money (less performance in most execpt RW for half the money) TO the Athlon guy, my dad doesn't trust AMD (don't flame me for that)...

I think my parents will give me atleast 1200 and if I'm lucky, up to 2000 to get everything (computer, Montier, printer, etc) I Might be able to cut out the printer because I'm going to a school that has a network in the dorms and network printers I would like to build it (that way I might be...
