I say cram her into one of those industrial size rotisseries like at Sam's Club/Costco and see how she likes it, then feed her to the animals at a shelter.

POST issue...

OK, here's an interesting problem I'm hoping someone can help me with. Working on a PC w/ a Shuttle AN35N Ultra mobo, AthlonXP 2500 Mobile CPU. The problem is that the PC no longer boots, and appears to hang whenever the hard drive is recognized. Let me try and explain this better... Boot...

Yeah, my first thought when I noticed the temp jump like that was the HSF. I would expect that sort of behavior in the quick rise of the temp....but when I saw it cool back to idle temps just as quick that confused the heck out of me. I would think a flawed heatsink making a poor connection...

No, this isn't going to be another thread about CPU temps :) but rather how quickly my CPU heats up and cools down. Last Friday, I built my new system using an Intel C2D E6400 on a Giga 965P-DS3 (full system details here) using the stock HSF. Got everything installed, everything runs great...

And another "review my build" thread... :)

Got my stuff Thursday, and setup went wihtout a hitch last night. Sure enough, didn't need any floppy drivers. Installed using the Intel SATA port with native mode disabled...installed the Intel INF drivers first thing after the install, rebooted, enabled native mode, and everything is working...

pc taking forever to get to websites

Are you using a software firewall? Reason I ask is because a couple of months ago I was having the exact same problem. Initially getting to a webpage was very slow just like you're experiencing, but once there, everything was fine. Download speeds were fast and online gaming wasn't a problem...

Well, just with my limited knowledge, I would agree that you have a hardware issue if you can't see the drives in the BIOS with the port set to legacy/IDE. Have you tried a different cable/HD/power connector?

Ok, now I think I'm confused again. I didn't think those SATA drivers were needed unless one was using a RAID configuration. If he's just using 1 SATA HD shouldn't he be able to set the port to IDE, do the windows install, install the INF drivers, reboot and set the port to NATIVE? Where...
