Antec 500 Watt Basiq for $9.99 AMIR and Antec Solo for $39.99 AMIR

Good prices on both. I actually prefer my Solo to my P180, the latter of which is just a pain to work in. And yes, Fortron used to be an excellent maker of PSU's, but that was something like 8 years ago. I'm not sure if they are as good as they used to be. Anyone know for sure?

You sure about that? There seems to be a LOT of misinformation floating around about this deal. Lots of people are bitter that you can only buy them in-store, and I suspect that's where a lot of the vitriol comes from. People have been saying: 1. They're OEM, not retail, and MC posted...

Athlon 64 X2 4200+

Anecdotally I've heard that this won't give much of a noticeable performance boost for single-threaded app's over a single core 4000+, but Tom's Hardware seems to tell a different story (link). Trying to figure out if this is worth an interim upgrade.

Are LCD's as vulnerable to EMI as CRT's? Less so? At all?

Thanks so much to both of you for the input. I would be using a DVI connector, so that makes me feel better. I didn't want to drop several hundred dollars on something that would give me the same trouble that I had already been experiencing. Any other thoughts and comments are definitely...

Are LCD's as vulnerable to EMI as CRT's? Less so? At all?

I recently picked up a new CRT monitor, but due to excessive EMI in the area, it can only operate at a 60 Hz refresh rate without getting shaking images, blurring and other visual disturbances. The 60 Hz refresh rate gives me more of a headache than the distorted and dancing text and images...

Just work more. Unless you're incredibly resourceful, eBay is going to be far more hassle than it's worth, and the margins you can expect are abysmally bad. People who make anything more than a pittance on eBay aren't going to tell you how to do it. And if you're just starting to ask now...

The problem with passwords

Just buy a cheap flash drive and put it on there. That's what I do for when I'm not at home. It works great. Crucial.com is selling 128MB drives for $17.99 shipped free. It's not the best price you'll find, but if you click through one of the ads here at Anandtech, you'll be contributing...
