AMD Black Edition motherboard recommendation

A friend of mine is looking to build around the new AMD Black Ed. proc. The main thing we're uncertain about is what kind of board would work best for overclocking such a beast. He wants to overclock.

System crashes during heavy slave disk operation

Help with german umlauts on USA XP install (ö ä ß etc.)

flexy, do you know if many of the indexers automagically add the 'de-umlauted' version of a keyword when they index, such as 'Die Bücher' would get indexed with 'Die Bücher' and 'Die Buecher'? I haven't looked at indexers in about 8 years, so I have no idea what they're doing these days.

X-QPack, HR-03 on a X1950Pro

I had looked at that case before. IIRC, I think it's a couple of inches longer, but the rest was pretty much the same. Your card looks like it fits much like mine. What I don't like, and makes me wish I had picked up a HIS, is that the blower pushes the air to the front rather than the rear...

Please help me choose a PSU?

I'll throw in another vote for the SST50EF. I've been very impressed by how stable it is under load. Their "shorter cables" will still connect most everything in a mid-tower ATX and smaller.

memory problems on lenovo t60

I would first reseat the RAM. You can look at the factory chip for comparison. Have you tried taking out the 512MB and run with just the Buffalo? Did you verify the Buffalo timings to be the same as what's currently in there? Normally, I would suggest going with a more name brand RAM...

Mixed Ram Brands, same timings...

One thing I found out after posting is that Lenovo's factory RAM module was made by Micron, and Kingston uses Micron chips as well. So we have two modules made by different companies with the same chips. At this point, I'm seriously thinking that it is an OS issue dressed in hardware symptoms.

Mixed Ram Brands, same timings...

Kingston has RAM for Lenovo T60's that are matched down to the submodel number. We've had a number of these purchased for our T60's at work (all the same model/submodel). 2 of the machines experience OS hangs intermittently (screen freeze, no BSOD) when the upgrade in placed in their machines...

I only have marketing pictures to go by(oddly enough, with no common mobo orientation) and I'm trying to see the diff. b/w Sapphire's PCI-E X1 location and Abit's. I think I see sound headers/connectors between the 1x and end of the board, but I'm not sure if that's what you're talking about...
