Video Card Upgrade?

To be honest, I think your 4870 will be just fine. What kind of power supply do you have? You might just throw another one in there when the prices hit ~150 or so. They scale fairly well.

Accidently merged User\Username\Downloads folder...

So I was setting up a new system today and moving the user\mydocuments user\downloads\ folders to a second hard drive. Unfortunately, it seems I made User\Downloads and User\Desktop the same folder...is there any way to repair this? I dug through the registry and couldn't find anything...

Reusing a Maze5 GPU block?

Nice. :D I agree completely. I'm looking specifically at which set of mounting brackets from them will work. http://www.dangerden.com/store/maze5gpu-stainless-steel-hardware-kit.html Series 1 or Series 2? Alternatively, I guess I could make my own...I'd just prefer not to go that route...

Reusing a Maze5 GPU block?

I have some old watercooling hardware sitting around, a Maze5 GPU block among the odds and ends. Has anyone tried mounting one on a 5770? The clamp on the reverse side looks like it'd still fit, I just need to figure out what I need as far as the front of the card. Thanks for any advice. TC

HOT i5-750

It just seems ludicrous to me that the stock cooler can't keep a STOCK processor from going beyond its maximum thermal spec. I was planning on overclocking, I just wanted to get the temps manageable first. Looks like I'll be fabbing something to re-use my trusty old MW-6002! Thanks.

HOT i5-750

Hey guys, it's been a while since I've overclocked anything so I figured it best to ask a few questions now (rather than after I've fried something.) In any case, I've got an i5-750. Running at barebone stock with an open side the temperatures were ~40C idle and climbed to ~80C in under 30...

WEI now reads correctly after applying several Windows updates. Still no change for Vantage, though.

Yes, I upped the fan speed a bit. I use IEMs so the noise doesn't bug me in the slightest. I'm using a Nextherm 460W PSU--it has two 18A 12V rails, given that I'm at stock settings using a low-power (95W) CPU and an SSD...I don't think that's the issue. I used it in a built with an Opteron...

Buying a SSD Trim? Brand? price range $0-$280

I went with a 40GB Intel-X25V...it has TRIM, I use it as my boot drive and the rest will be on a 1TB Caviar. That puts you at ~$230 total (from the 'egg), and the performance is screaming.

Thank you! Judging by their "recommended" configurations, it looks like thilan is right and it will throttle the faster card. Looks like I'll be opting for a 4870! Thanks.
