I've been trading emails with HP's tech support, and that's their conclusion too. They want to replace the panel. I was hoping that there would be a solution that didn't involve me giving the monitor up. It seems like HP has some bugs to iron out of this monitor still. It really doesn't pay...

Looking for PC stereo speakers with auto-power off

Mac and PCs on the same router.

Out of curiosity, what router are you using? It's probably not very likely in this case, but if you're using a v5/v6 Linksys WRT54G, the 1.0.10 firmware breaks the router's DHCP server such that Macs can't connect properly.

Maxtor drive failure imminent?

Well, the first sign that something is terribly wrong with your drive is the big label on it that says "Maxtor." ;) Have you checked the S.M.A.R.T. status of the drive? That should be a good indicator for anything physically wrong with the drive itself.
