Does the P5B Deluxe need a CPU connected to POST?

BIOS is nothing but software. Without the CPU there's nothing to even run the POST tests. No motherboard can do anything but maybe light up a power LED without a CPU plugged in. superunknown is right, POST without a CPU is impossible.

Tuniq Tower question

If you're considering a heatpipe tower cooler, consider how it will be mounted. I think they work best when the cpu plate is down - might be some (significant) difference in performance in a tower case vs. a desktop case.

There is one question I've never seen answered, though. If you take one of these heatpipe tower coolers, how does it work if you mount it horizontally in a tower case (like at least half of the builders)? Heatpipe technology, if I am not mistaken, relies on gravity to draw the condensed...

Antec P180 and orientation of powersupply

I have all my fans pointing down - sucking air from 2 cm at the top of the case does absolutely nothing for airflow, and will impede flow through the PSU as well. I think there should be nothing in the PSU itself that would object to being upside down, although with some PSUs the main switch...
