ram cooling on 8800GT? How important is this?

Samsungs 226BW can do 1080P?

Nobody bothered to answer you because is not such a smart question. Like you said, the maximum resolution and the only TRUE one is 1680x1050 pixels, even if your input signal reported by your monitor is 640x480, 1024x768, 1280x1024 or 1920x1080. No matter the input, you use all of your 1680x1050...

Spare parts for Zalman?

I've been looking at mine and you might try with a long screw (Nipple A + Nipple B long) that is thin enough to pass through the holes on the graphics card. You would have to then screw both sides of the metal bracket one at a time. And in place of Nipple A try a cilindrical piece of plastic...

3DMark Vantage Screens

Thx, aberforth. I like the way they clearly separate CPU from GPU tests. 3dmark 06 was useless in the last 2 years because of the importance the CPU score played in the final score. Not reality like, really.

8800GT Temperatures

I removed the metal plate on my case located underneath the graphics card so that that hot air that the card's fan is blowing toward the back of the case has a place to go. You can try with more of those metal plate depending of your system configuration. The fan located in front of the case...

No DirectX 10.1 in Vista SP1

Not to piss me off. The only ones that have a lot to gain from DirectX10.1 are AMD/ATI. If there is no DX10.1 in SP1, they have a lot to lose. To the consumer, DX10 itself didn't bring anything usefull yet. I don't see any reason to hide the fact that it has DX10.1 if those .dlls are the real...

Having read that Microsoft finished work on SP1 and announced a RTM, I was curious as to how will this work on my Vista 32. And then, the bad news, that I had to wait until march or even later to install it. So, I just downloaded off torrents the SP1 that everybody called Final only to find...

8800GT GPU Fan Speed Issues w/ P5K-E

Riva Tuner works in Vista with my GT with no problems if you have UAC disabled. Even if you don't, it blocks Riva at the startup, but noticifies you so you can start it.

First glance at 3870X2 Crossfire X results.

It looks really good for AMD. It's now clear that the drivers will make this a must ot bust for them. And with the next gpu coming in multi-die form (the R7x0), this results are the first indications for future products performance. Go ATI!
