I do it for the same reason people climb mountains :P "because it is there". Why not, it's fun and dangerous sometimes when you think you've gone to far. And then if you do muck it up... you get to fix it again which is fun also :) :)
I had that same thing after I pushed my memory timings too far. I had OC'd the box for a month stable then got bored and tried to knock my cmd rate and timing down slightly and I got that on a reboot ( never got into windows). I reset the bios and all was well, reload opt defaults and it was...
I recently retired my MX1000 for the Revolution and I'm also not happy. It's been about 2 weeks and I had the MX1000 for 3-4 years so I'm gonna give it a little longer and if not then I'm gonna use the MX1000 till its dead!
I can't really say what it is don't like about it... well I have...
I went from a 3200+ Single Core w/ X800XT to the rig in my sig and it's awesome on my 46 inch Aquos. MKV AVI DVD all run great but to compare on the old rig it would stutter occasionally and when I had another rig that had a 5600+ w/ an 8600 it also stuttered not nearly as often but it did...
When it came time to build another computer last Nov/Dec I had decided that regardless of what I read I would stay loyal to AMD. I built a little rig with a 5600+ and used it for a bit and while it was generations better than my last computer I was nagged by what I read...
I decided to start...
I had a similar problem on several new installs then came back later and it worked...
I'm pretty sure it was not having Java installed. I was able to repeat this over and over and once Java Runtime is on it works!
These were new installs and Java isn't the first thing I install in fact...
I upgraded my motherboard from OEM Dell to aftermarket, reinstalled, called Microsoft to activate Vista 32 and told them it was and OEM that I upgraded and they activated Vista.
I'm not a lawyer but it was very easy, in fact I had to reinstall some 4 times in two weeks while testing certain...
@ Team42
I didn't know that at the time. I didn't know which was the problem but in true problem solver way I went step by step and figured it out.
Thanks for the meaningless flame, mommy not put enough bologna in your sandwich that day?
This forum is great info but there are some...
I have removed Vista from my main box recently for some of the reasons people mention here. I don't hate it at all but I do prefer XP. I have left it on my laptop and have had it there for the past 7 months and my wife loves it. For many of the reasons in some of these posts, she just wants...
I did the same as Phunky using the small picture frame glass and duct tape. I stopped at 1000 and then did the HS also and the load temps were truly amazingly better. By almost 10c but my AFP7 was terribly milled so I expected great results.
I bought another Freezer pro just to see how the...
My Gskill DDR2 1000 came at 1.8 800mhz out of the package. In fact on new eggs review site non of these geniuses can figure out how to get it to 1000mhz...
I went to look and the mfg replied that they do come at 1.8 1000mhz to avoid booting problems.
I had a 1c delta with Stock Intel HSF, after Lapping CPU it rose to 3c. I then lapped AF7 and CPU and now I usually have no delta at all, sometimes one is faster to riase by less than a second or so but thats it.
I also get 45c under load now which makes all that sanding worthwhile.
I had posted elsewhere on this board about my experience with AF7 pro. Mine was so baldy milled that it only touched 30% of the 6750. I lapped the 6750 and then it was 25%...
I took the time this last weekend to lap my AF7 pro and after hours of sanding it works brilliantly.
Stock Intel...
I've been using the G Skill 1000's for about a month with a 6750 running 1:1 and overclocking. I know I'm actually underclocking the memory but who cares it runs great.
