Speedstep not working after sp2?

Hey fbrdphreak.. thanks for the link on SpeedSwitchXP. I tried that 'cause I was still having problems and this solved the problem beautifully. It seems that even tho I had set the BIOS to dynamic speed on battery power, it was somehow reading max performance (a bios bug I guess?). This software...

Speedstep not working after sp2?

Anybody figure out a fix for this? I just installed SP2 and I seem to be suffering from the same problem.

dlink di-514 multiple vpn wireless connections

I'm not sure about this particular router, but most routers don't allow multiple vpn's. If they do, they'll specifically say so because it'd be a big selling feature. Like the top of the line netgear, for example. I thnk that this particular router doesn't.

Sorry, I didn't mean the client card doesn't have an antenna - it has a connector for one but there isn't one in my notebook. So I added a tiny little loop type, but there is virtually no gain as far as I can tell on it. I have a new antenna on the way, supposedly about 4dbi gain on that one -...

BTW - regarding the aluminum foil - does it have to be an exact parabola? or just a curve? My AP is also on an outside wall.

Hi all. First off, thanks for all the replies. Scott: Unfortunately, moving the router would be quite tricky for me at this point. I did do a temp, pretty messy move about 3 feet out (towards the room I want the signal) but I didn't notice any difference. Also don't have any other 2.4g devices...

Well, in the next room I get about 70%, where it doesn't seem to drop connection. So I'd only be looking for a 10% gain in signal strength or so. I know the db gain is exponential so I'm thinking that 5.5 or 7dbi would do the trick. Maybe I'll just give it a try and see how it goes. Thanks for...

9800 Pro Cooling

Toasty HyperX???

Hmm... interesting post. I have 2 sticks of HyperX 3500 as well and they are burning hot too! It seems to be stable, though i'm only running them at 354. I couldn't get them stable at anything > 412 on my 8ik1100. I wonder if heat's the prob (but I am running only 2.5V!)

Heh. Ahhh... the good 'ol days of changing timing crystals on like.. 8088's and 286's and 386's. haha... funny. i remember I even used a stack of pennies as a heat sink for my 386sx-16@25!

New 800MHz FSB OC results.

I'm still trying to find the sweet spot, and I've got pc2700 ram only right now so I have to use a 3:2 divider and am not sure if the ram is what's holding me back or not, but my 2.6C is sitting on my machine somewhere around 3470 or so. As I mentioned, I can post and bench at up to about 3530...

Just got me a P4 3.06, now at 23 x 157 / 1.65v

Nice job Mingon. As we mention in our pm's my limit for my 3.06 was 3.5. What kind of "toasty" temps are you getting?
