    removing audio from an avi

thanks, guys. my questions are all cleared up now. MichaelD: Happy overall. Widescreen is nice. Probably a bit grainy with indoor lighting, but I'm not too fussy aboout those things. I've had the camcorder for well over a year now. Good for vacations. I'm annoyed with indoor in that...

    removing audio from an avi

thanks, unfalliblekrutch. so let's say i'm working with 100 megs. the two options would be: a) i strip the audio and it turns into 75 megs. i add my own audio (25 megs worth) and it goes back to 100 megs b) don't strip the audio and add my 25megs of audio, which keeps it at 100megs?

I need help picking out a Camcorder.

I have the Canon Elura 100 and I'm quite happy with it. I used this site (camcorderinfo.com) a lot when I was doing my research. I forget why I chose miniDV format over recording direct to a dvd, but I'm very happy with my decision. I think one of the reasons why mini DVD is only 30 mins of...

    removing audio from an avi

Hi guys, I just transferred some home video from my Canon Elura 100 using WinDV (avi type 1). If I use Virtualdub and strip out the audio will the file become smaller? Or do I just dub over it with my own music? I don't quite understand how it works, so I don't know if I'm adding to the...

    transfering DV to avi

thanks guys. I was actually browsing through the videohelp.com site right before I came here. Maybe I should keep looking. Yeah, I used Firewire. Late4Dinner, are you saying you transferred both audio and video (my understanding is its all in one coming from the camcorder) at the same time...

    transfering DV to avi

Hi guys, I'm using virtualdub to transfer some xmas video i took on my canon elura 100 (to avi, then hopefully burn to dvd). I tried it a few times, and I get the vid fine on playback, but no audio. Tried diff options too. From reading the documentation on the vdub website, I think it's...

can my ATI radeon 9200 support widescreen?

cool, thanks, guys. It's probably not a good idea/possible to use one wide and one normal, right (i.e., mix resolutions)?

How is the 'Hauppauge WinTV Go' tv tuner?

I used that card - now I use the PVR-150. WinTV Go is good to just watch tv. I tried recording something once and it was a bit tedious (maybe I didn't know the right application to use). Anyways, it's all software decoding too, I think, so it's not as good as it can be. I think I got it for...

can my ATI radeon 9200 support widescreen?

I don't think this is my exact card, but I assume it's similar: http://ati.amd.com/products/radeon9200/radeon9200/specs.html At the bottom it gives the supportted resolutions w/a note about 16:9. I'm looking to use 1440x900. Will it work? I don't understand the terminology well enough...

    what is a subwoofer cable?

I just got some new speakers and it says I need a subwoofer cable. I looked on amazon and radioshack's websites and it looks like a normal a/v cable. What's the difference? I also see some for $7 and some for over $100. what's the deal there?
