LCD went blank

Booted up my PC... nothing but a black screen. Exchanged my Acer LCD for old CRT monitor and everything works. If i turn the power off and back on with the Acer the logo comes up, then it goes black. Even with the cable unhooked it doesn't give me the "check video cable" message.. just blank. Is...

Possible Virus or spyware?

Hi. I got home and logged onto my personal computer. Zone Alarm starts going off imediately saying 3848747.exe is trying to access the internet. I click "deny" and then 30 second later another one pops up. I go to look where it's originating and find that there are exe files be...

XP on multiple computers

I want to upgrade all six of our PC's at work from 2000 PRO to XP but I can't find a "corporate edition" version to purchase. Is there such a beast? If so, where can I purchase? I looked on New Egg but didn't see it.

Frozen IE6.0

I'm running 2000 PRO service pack 4... IE6.0.2800 When I pull up the browser it will freeze up for about 1.5- 2 minutes then it runs fine. If i open another window... same thing. I reinstalled IE but no luck.. any ideas?

i went and looked at system restore and it dont give a previous restore date... just today. I tried to disable restore, but when i reboot.. it's back again. I know a clean start would be easier, but i don't run xp...only 2000 pro.. she's saying her mp3 won't work with anything but xp.. so...

i didn't install anything. One of her friends gave it to her when she got a new one. it works find, just won't keep any changes she makes. Another example. she added the newer window media player. It's intalled no problem. But when she rebooted it was gone and the old version back on.

XP can't make changes

My daughter got a used computer with XP operating system. When ever she makes changes (removes shortcuts from the desktop, etc) and reboots they come back. I went in under Administrator and the same thing happened. Any ideas?

No power

My mom called me about her Computer. She says she started to turn it on, the keyboard light would flicker... but nothing else. I figured Power Supply so I had it send it to me, replaced the supply... nothing. When you turn it on, keyboard light clickers once... sometimes the process fan will...

No extended desktop option with this card

Here's a link to the card: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16814102404#sctNav I installed, run the lastest drivers, but cannot get it to do extended desktop. I've tried through catalyst and desktop options, but no good. It will clone, but not extend. Any ideas?

installed a Sapphire (ATI) 9200 with dual monitor. There isn't a option when I open display control panel to extend my desktop. If i use the catalyst i can clone but not extend. Any ideas?
