I got this email from AMD(I'm in tech support, not sales but AMD salespro gives cool free stuff) ;)
"Dear AMD Distributor Partners,
This is a reminder that the next price move for most AMD processors is this coming MON, January 28, 2002. Be sure to tell all your customers.

<< Exactly....1000BaseT must be SO sensitive. Leave gigabit speeds to fiber. >>
Are there any reviews/documentation/anecdotes regarding this? We may be upgrading this cluster in a year or so, and were considering gigabit over copper.
Also, I saw some cable at best buy the other day...

BEFSR81 - EtherFast® Cable/DSL Router with 8-Port Switch
does that mean its a router and a switch built in? >>
Yes, that has a switch built in.
Get a 1 port router and link it to the switch of your choice, Linksys makes a single LAN port router for less than $100, model BEFSR11. Or the Netgear RT311.
I recieved and installed my EPoX board without any problems whatsoever, it is nice and stable. (For those that are confused, do a search for a thread titled "Thinking about jumping ship") And I have 384mb of DDR RAM....now my only weakness is my ATA66 Quantum HD. Definately need to replace that...
<< I don't think thats your board. I think your power supply isn't sufficient.

I have an Antec 300w supply, it's a very high quality power supply. I don't think it's the problem, but if I have the same issues with the EPoX board I will look into getting a 350W or higher. But I doubt...

(All of the above is true, and I would NEVER buy a mac :)) >>
Well...I'm still going to buy a Mac, but it's going to be for my girlfriend for her birthday in March (shhh!), she fell in love with the new iMac and quite frankly I think it's pretty cool myself. plus she's getting sick of...
<< The issues are not with AMD processors. These issues arise 99% of the time from chipset troubles -- most often a VIA chipset "issue". Avoid VIA like the plague and you'll find your AMD experience great! :D >>
I know they are definately not the processors, and the blame lies with the...
I'm getting sick of the shoddy quality and lack of consistent support offered by motherboard makers for AMD CPU's. First we have the infamous agp issues with KX133 chipsets and Win2000 (I currently have a KA-7) Then we have SDRAM stability issues. 2 months ago I purchase a Gigabyte GA-7DX and...
Yeah, well...sort of. We (my gf and I) have friends in Hamilton and we travel there maybe 5 or 6 times a year, usually while there they pay for everything. Well they just opened up their own auto repair shop and are now understandably seriously in debt, yet still insist on paying for everything...
