64Bit Vista is great

Don't spend more money, ignore Vista 32. Stick with XP and V64 dual-boot. Then once a month or so, boot Vista and let it do the Update thing, download new drivers, etc...

Why do people hate Vista?

OK sorry, I see it now :) I've used Vista on one of my PCs, and also saw it's page on Wikipedia. It's a nice OS :) It's just that the release doesn't match the upgrade cycles of the PCs that matter to me. OTOH If a machine is sold with Vista, it's certified for it and with working...

90% of PC users are not XP die hard. They just don't care. If they buy a new computer they will use Vista. If not, they will keep using XP. Simple

Thoroughly disgusted with Vista 64-bit so far

A lot of people are not for or against Vista! What they have now (XP or not), is good enough, as good or better. Then why bother paying for something that you already have for free? He just doesn't care! He has a working PC. Now. Without Vista.

Most people don't hate a software package. They just ignore those excessive and emotive reactions, and use what they *really* want, need or can afford. Linux, Mac, XP or Vista. Only fanboys of some kind love or hate Vista.

I see, thanks. But afaik it will still need to use the 125MB, it keeps needing that working set. I noticed that it has very poor performance at the very beginning, and it takes a few seconds to speed up. I assume that Vista is swapping everything else. But when I switched to the game, it was...

Yes :) It's strange due to the claimed requirements that I see everywhere on the net More less what I said above: "7zip benchmark using a 8MB dictionary and allocating 125MB out of the 256. Media Center, media player, device manager, computer properties and mahjong are also loaded". Please see...
