Cable Modem Routing Problems!!!

Cable/Router problems. VERY NEW AT ALL THIS

I connected the cat5 cables into each ethernet card, and i plugged the cables into the router. I also plugged the cable modem line into the router (i think that port was called the wan cable port or something). Now, i restarted my computers. What do i do next?
