Are you talking about malware manufactured javascript code? If so I don't think that is correct. As http://browserspy.dk/ shows probing is everywhere. Feature not a bug. Marketing people are the experts in this field...

All security companies make these type of posts and there is nothing new in this no matter how scared you are. Explain where you see that? How can you have any idea based on what they "reveal"? Pdf-exploits are certainly not new which is what they mean by "initiates infection", ads being used...

And what exactly is "this one"? Seems like more of the same to me, from security companies... The usual pdf- or flash-exploits for those who use old versions but if so harmful there will be details with more meat on available right?

Try uninstall. If they can't see through such tricks give them WOT http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/finallyfast.com Did not read all comments but if uninstall is also a scam, just remove manually - check with Autoruns, Filemanager, Regedit. Also check browsers for changed/added search engines...

Do you ever feel safe after an infection?

Perhaps problem is more the idea someone or something has messed with your computer than loss of money. I think it is lack of information that causes doubts. Which infection? Where did it come from? Where did you or software fail? Find and study details, be sure what was detected and apparently...

You could try Network Diagnostics for Windows XP http://support.microsoft.com/kb/914440 Might give a hint. Does dns cache reset when you change server? Run "ipconfig /flushdns" if not. Messing with dns is also sign of infection but who knows... If whatever is setting up dns for you problems...

Must remember that while service is nice and useful it only do a file scan based on command line tools. They are not the same as a fully installed AV. Seems like you have run into false positive no. 123456789 but in theory your file could be heavily infected, but no AV notice until it is...

MBAM Full or Free? Should I bother?

Is a useful program if you want a simple setup, no hips stuff or other monitoring tools. Good supplement to any AV. Try google "funwebproducts" or in other words AVs are known to leave stuff out if not simply blow :) Why was S&D made years ago? More or less the same with Malwarebytes and similar...

Avast (free)

Check their forum for problems but usually Avast is very stable. You can make it even more stable by not using all those shields. I only use File System and Network Shield and last one only because it blocks malware domains. That feature is not critical but I like it :) If you feel browsing is...
