Can't enter BIOS as a result of overclocking?

Wow, why didn't I think of clearing the CMOS before.. thanks a lot! I really appreciate it... always new I could find help from good people on this forum :)

Hi there. I put together my rig about a summer ago that consisted of a Gigabyte 8IEXP motherboard with an accompanying 1.6 A processor. I wasn't able to get it to overclock at 2.4 Ghz like most others, but I was able to get 2.2 at 1.55 V. It ran perfectly for about half a year. A few months...

1. How do I know what my default memory voltage is? When I look in the BIOS, it does not list what my "DIMM voltage" is but allows me to increase it by +1-3. 2. Also, when you say cas 2, 6, 2, 2... I *think* you're referring to the memory timings. How do I change this? If not through the...

Higher overclock vs higher ddr?

The highest I can overclock at default voltage is 2.29 (143FSB) However, this is using the lower memory settings. I believe the 2 options are 2.00 and 2.66. Using the 2.66 setting, I can not boot at 143FSB. 1) Is this my memory's problem here? 2) Am I better off running at 136FSB with 362...

Overclocking & Clipping

Ok I was trippin about the 2.4... for some reason I thought I still had a 1.8 processor. So the 133 FSB only brings me to 2.12. Tried 150 FSB for 2.4, but couldn't load. Tried a few settings with memory and AGP/PCI, still could not load at 150. Running on 140 right now so going to keep...

Overclocking & Clipping

I just installed a new 1.6A processor in my computer today. It is running at 2.4 @ the default 1.5v just fine. However, I've noticed slight video clipping when running demoes. Is it possible that overclocking the processor can cause video clipping? I'm pretty sure it isn't the video card's...

Succesful 1.6A Overclock

Mikki, if yo'ure listening, I wanted to thank you for the help with my overclocking problem. I am now running my 1.6A at 2.4 at the default voltage (1.5). I have just one question though, what do people mean by the "burn-in" period? Does that mean I should run it at 2.4 for a few days before...

I ran the Comanche Benchmark on my system a few times on different resolutions. When I started with 1024x768, i got 29.4 fps. But as I changed resolutions around to 640x480, 800x600, and 1600x1200, my fps got lower and lower. When I went back to 1024x768, my fps was down to 21.4. Can anyone...

Bad luck?

I don't think they would accept an exchange anymore... so I'm ebaying it off. Hope I don't lose too much money :(. Just placed an order on that newegg website. Looks like a lot of people got their CPUs from there. Would you mind answering a few more questions though? I bought PC2100...

Bad luck?

i looked into it a bit more and found out that i have the 256k version of the 1.8. Am I correct in assuming that the 1.6A's are the one that most people are succesful with? Thanks for the quick reply btw. Ciao, Jimmy
