Cant install XP

Alright, so I finally got my Suse Linux package from the hot deal.

Interesting. I want to see how this works out. I tried to get onto MSN like I used to with "normal" ISPs in Windows XP. I could dial, connect and put in my name and the password, but it would always fail authoriization, and disconnect. I found no informantion on MSN about gettting straight...

XP question/problem and multi-partitions?

I have installed XP over itself (and W98, and W2K) a number of tiimes, and it always picked up the installed programs. About the only thng I can think of that would cause your problem is a corrupt registry that the XP intaller program excised your setups from ( unless possibly your drive letter...

Well, bluey, if you tried them all, I guess it doesn't matter which one you should choose. :) I'd try Standard PC, or maybe Other. If your drive is actually shutting off as you decribe, that is one symtom of trying to access a non-existant spot on the HD. It is possible the XP setup is doing...

Need help with windows 98 boot disk

As far as I know, this is supposed to already be done on the W98 startup disk, using the files CONFIG.SYS AUTOEXEC.BAT SETRAMD.BAT I don't think you can create a ramdrive at the DOS prompt, because you need a driver for any disk device, which can only be loaded from the CONFIG.SYS file...

Mandrake 9.1 or 10 is the easiest install Fedora Knoppix if you want to see Linux without putting it on the HD. Somebody asks this pretty regularly, so just flip through the last several forum pages.

You could always try pressing F8 as XP starts, and at the menu choose "Last known good configuration"

Is there compatibility problems for different brands of DDR Memory ?
