To get the thing to work in Win2000 I had to call APC twice.
It does not have smart signaling.
If you have the software auto-detect the unit it will not work.
When you manually detect, don't tell it it is the BackUPS Pro...
You should not need the smart signaling cable to get basic functionality -- I'm just remarking that I'm having a problem with it.
As for smart signaling, the UPS is a Pro version which is supposed to support subsmart, I believe.

The CompUSA Manager by Landmark Mall, in VA would not pricematch to 149 since he said that with the $50 rebate, I might *gasp* get the thing for $100. So he sold it to me for $200 -- since they are only required to pricematch after all rebates, etc -- or so he said. And then they didn't event...
It looks exactly like the Samsung Dynaflat Analog TXL2791F (but in silver, not black). Bestbuy sells the samsung for around 500.
It sports the 16x9 mode that the Sony Wega's boast.
At this price, its a steal (flat screen, 800 lines, etc...)
Siemens has just brought out the 4000 series to replace the 2400 series.
I remember reading that the 2400 series had tons of QC problems. Reviews I've read say that the 4000 series suffers none of those problems, though it is early days yet.

I've done one of these BA flight+hotel deals before. Good deal, nice hotel (can't remember which one though). Hotel included continental breakfast (which is of little use if you wake up hungry in the morning!).
Just called 2 costcos near me.
The first one said that it was not an instore item for them, then hung up on me, the second said that none of the stores in the Northeast carry them. Aparently "Northeast" includes the all of the stores in the Midatlantic region (MD, VA and DC).
