hey neural, thanks for your help, but your suggestion was exactly the way that i fixed/solved my problem. the question i am wondering now is why did it work? why does it not automatically detect the ip address like it should and like the other computer is doing? again, i am just asking...
this is sooo wierd.
i manually entered an ip address and a dns address and NOW IT WORKS
i don't understand why it won't do it automatically from the router. it doesn't make sense. i've been trying to think of the reason why it wouldn't, but i can't think of it. it must be hardware related...
i tried pinging, but that didn't work. i think my ip configs are set up correctly(by the way, i have xp and so the tcp/ip are already setup for me). it's wierd, i just compared the ip address on the one computer that doesn't work to the one that works and the ip addresses are completely...
i just got adelphia cable internet access today and i hooked up my d-link 804 router to the cable modem so that i could have two computers accessing the internet. so far, i can only get one of my computers to access the internet. the other one will not work. at first i thought that the...
i tried installing another nic card and it still won't work. i don't know why i can't connect. all the other computers i have used connects except for the one with the ecs mobo. is there anything that i can do?
Yup, It's Going to Be FREE on TV! Lakers Win!
Edit: Honestly, would anyone even watch the finals if the kings had won? whether you love them(lakers) or hate them, you want to watch them, win or lose. they're just that good. btw, mad respect for bibby, the only clutch player on the kings.
can you check your components on another computer? maybe your cpu is blown or your video card? if those work on another computer, then it's probably your mobo.
which drivers and hydravision are you using? i can use media player on my second monitor for other stuff except DVD's. by the way, look for zoomplayer. it lets you watch mpegs and avi on your second monitor full screen.
i am trying to turn off my monitor via the power management within windows xp. i have it set to turn off at 15 minutes, but it won't turn off. also, my computer will not go on standby nor will it hibernate. my monitor is plug and play. also, what's acpi?
