Whats your favorite KDE Linux distro?

Computer freezes for seconds at a time

Open up task manager as soon as you boot windows. Monitor to see if anything starts hogging the cpu. Use Autoruns to see what is being loaded at starup. You could also run memtest to check your memory and take an actual look at your cpu heatsink and fan (dust). You could also try booting to...

Sounds like an ATI problem to me but, as others have said try another distribution. You're bound to find one that works. unmerited

It's worth whatever effort you put into learning to use Linux. I have been able to replace all programs I used in Windows with Linux alternatives. You might be interested in this thread. unmerited

Massive new premium module for NeverWinter Nights released, FREE

Yep, downloaded it last night. Great stuff. Didn't say anything about Linux support but was able to extract the files from the exe file and place in proper directories according to Readme. Works fine. It's to bad NWN2 won't have native Linux support. unmerited

Favourite Linux

I also prefer Suse. Ease of use, setup, configuration, plenty of programs to choose from and of course there's always YAST. I experiment with other distros on vmware server but Suse is my main OS for daily use. Lets me do everything I need to do. unmerited

VMware Server slower then cold molasses?

I have to say I really like VMWare Server. I have it running on a Suse linux 9.3 host with an xp2400+ and 1G ram. I can have 2 guests (W2K and Solaris) running with very little performance degradation. Great for testing out another OS and system software. unmerited
