Drive is now "on sale" without any coupon code for $70. I'm in after hearing about the F3 having some vibration issues. I use a ghetto elastic strap to sort of soft mount my drive so I don't think it'd be an issue, but I can't see the price of these drives (save the Seagate) significantly...

Thanks for that. Those dips are hurting the measured average read, but you can tell it performs well and 110MB is quite good. I'm more interested in access time, and 15.1ms does not look very good. I'm thinking this is just model variability or AAM being on. For reference here's a Samsung F3 1TB...

WD 640GB $88 FS!

Got mine from MWave on eBay using 20% MSFT cashback. Without the 10% PayPal code I used it'd come to $82 shipped. Arrived today and AAM was set on 128. Disabling did nothing. Keeping it enabled and setting it to 254 did work though. Blows my Seagate 320GB out of the water...

HOT! compgeeks, refurb hp celeron M 1.4 MINI ITX system $209

I have a cable similar to that VGA -> S-Video/RCA and it works by doing composite over pin1. Tried it on my ATI cards and no dice. Anyhow, here is the mobo - yes it does 533 so a pinmod may very well work. Lastly, here is a review of a similar unit - check near the bottom to see it naked! :Q

Hey LordGestle what XT BIOS did you flash? I've verified that I have the 1.2ns RAM but anything more than 660 is giving me artifacts/crashes in ATITool. I was playing with some BIOSes today and almost wanst able to get the stock back on. None of the ones I tried seemed to help the memory...

I'm working on some clocks and benchamarks right now. Just waiting for XP to get done installing. Tests will be performed at stock 165 speeds so the numbers will actually be relevant to those running a similar proc. I'll try and note voltages as well.
