Or you can go all out and get one of the tornado fans from vantec and really have a lot of air through your case. Fair warning, wind chill might be nice, but these things sound like very large vacume cleaners. I have a 80 mm one that I only use during the HOT days.

Could be someone on the dorm network. Sure you are behind a firewall to the internet, but are you protected from the guy down the hall? I would suggest, if you decide to reinstall windows again, that you get a different copy of windows. Not a different version, mearly a different disk. Your...

There are alot of web sites that go VERY in depth with thier burner reviews, http://www.digit-life.com/arti...g4040-multi/index.html is one such site. I suggest you go to one of these sites and read a few reviews. As far as the best write quality, I believe that is TDK's crown at the moment.

Silly proprietary computers... :D The computer will not be moved much, most likely the hd rack will be supported on rubber washers (with ground wire) to help dampen any vibrations.

I have seen it once, never happend to me, but that one second shutdown message could be someone taking advantage of a windows exploit. Do you get that one minuet shut down message when you are off line or on line? Try keeping your computer off line and see what happens with that one minuet shut...
