Can you make an IDE Zip250 drive letter A: (assuming you have no floppy?)

<< What do I do if I have no floppy drive? >> You're out of luck I think. I tried something similar with an LS120 a while ago and couldn't get it to fly. My solution was to leave the case open and attach a floppy without mounting it for the initial setup.

I'm thinking it must be something built into the browser... but I'm using IE5.5! I'm currently using NT4 but was on Win2kPro a couple of hours ago, with the same thing happening. I just put Opera 5.11 on my PC, no little highlights there... Damn you Microsoft!!! So, uh... how do I torch this...

Reliable 3½" floppy drive?

It's never been the drives I've worried about, but the freakin disks :disgust: Doesn't seem to matter which brand I buy, a couple of uses and they get bad sectors.

Just put together my new PC last night

Under-volted it to 1.55 - runs fine, but only brought it down to 53C under load. Still waiting for the paste to turn up. Great idea guys, thanks for the tip.

The Asus that takes both is A7A266 - ALi Magik1 chipset. $376 at EYO and $380 at Scorptec. :) Is having the cross-compatibility worth it? IOW, does the Magik1 with DDR perform better than a 133A with SDR????

I'll get rid of the pad, how much does thermal paste cost anyway. I'll also try under-volting but eventually I'd like to over-clock. That is, if it can be done at all, given the other constraints like airflow. Does nobody have 2c to throw in on the onboard audio issue?

Oh, OK. No, my cables have 8 sets of that colour pattern. Definitely 80 wires. I can't remember, but I had some kooky idea that if the ground cables weren't autodetected the channel would only operate at ATA33. What's your boot screen reporting? ATA100? And I suppose the repercussions of not...
