Poor performance with a router

According to the Microsoft website, as long as their are no special characters or spaces in the shared printer name, the ME computer should interact with the printer. I guess I need to check for better drivers. I will also verify that thw printer will work with this older computer, even though...

I have beenm invaded!

I am certainly going to heed to any advise. I do not wish to have to go through this again. I will have to do some troubleshooting to see exactly how many operating systems that I have. If I now have two installations of XP, I need to make sure I do not select the problematic one.

Windows 98 SE vs. Windows ME

A common belief amonst us novices is that each successive operating system was an improvement over the previous one. Just my humble opinion.

I have beenm invaded!

The system was so problematic that I had to re-install XP. I had several folders of junk that kept giving me an "access denied" message whenever I tried to delete them. No other programs were running when I was trying to delete them, so I do not know why they would not delete. I have a dual boot...

I have beenm invaded!

I have been invaded by what appears to be spyware and popup adds. I downloaded something by mistake and have lost control over my own computer. I did a disk clean up and deleted 1,135 cookies. My task manager shows 43 processes running, could some of the culprits be residing in there too? Thanks.:)

Just curious??

I was not aware that would happen with a hard drive that was not partitioned. At any rate, I deleted the second option and all is well. Except for determining what corrupted the os in the first place. Thanks again.:)

I reloaded Windows XP Home after it became corrupted and wound up with what appears to be a dual boot screen. The hard drive is not partitioned. I edited the second option out and all is well. I was just curious as to how this happened....Thanks for the repsonse.

200GB drive not functioning... am I screwed??

I cannot help much, but I think the freezer would be a very bad idea. When the drive warms up to ambient temperature, condensation will collect inside the hard drive. Condensation inside electronic componenets is not a very good idea. There used to be companies that specialized in retrieving...
