Software to connect to linksys router

If I'm not mistaken, Linksys assigns 192.168.1.1 to most of the routers they manufacture.

LAN that is driving me mad

Gustavus, listen to spidet07's advice. The man is hitting the bullseye so much that he's splitting arrows. Has any one suggested "Start-->Run" approach?

experts please help: how can i remote desktop from work machine to home machine

When talking about home use routers/switches/APs (Linksys, Netgear) I wouldn't recommend you put your PC in a DMZ. Reason being... these devices don't do real DMZ all they do is make all the ports on your machine available to anything/anyone on the outside. Port forward individual ports...

help picking a Wireless routers

I've read some good things about these Pre-N routers with MIMO technology. Linky Thing is Pre-N is "pre" N and the tech isn't even standardized yet.

Odd LAN setup

You mean the switch connects to the WAN ports of both routers, correct. If so what nweaver said would be correct.

windows server 2000

Correct me if I'm wrong but XP Home doesn't allow you to log-on to domains. I bring this up because you said you were not sure if the machine was Pro/Home.

9800 Pro overclocks deteriorating

Congrats on that sweet mega OC. I think your card will last a couple of years if kept cool (maybe)... but I'm not taking responsiblity if your card goes pppttttt. Also cbehnken has given you some VERY good advice.
