Skylake RAM DDR4

Hey all, I'm about to buy some new RAM this morning, I was wondering if using all 4 dimms at 4x4 on a 6700k build would be a bad idea for overclocking... I'm debating 4x4 @ 3000mhz vs 2x8 @2666mhz I want to OC the crap out of my chip, and I will be gaming. Which would you guys get? Let me...

just tried 4.4 at 1.25, instant crash in prime, HT is off...nice tip. Im trying 4.4 1.27v 1.9 override and 1.15 vring uncore is set to 35 in bios, not auto

Ya I have tried those things, and u were right, uncore is at 4000. LLC and PWN phase control are on extreme performance. I will try 1.92 on vrin override, should I leave vring at 1.15? almost positive it will crash tho :(

Hey sorry I took so long to respond, had to take care of some stuff. Batch number is L311B219 Cache is at 4x in cpuz under load, so I guess that's my uncore right? vring at 1.15 didn't seem to help much, my chip still needs 1.28 at 4.4ghz so far the best results I can get are...

I think my chip is just kinda shitty. default voltage is 1.208... Malaysian batch uncore is 35x other voltages are stock, I was trying to tweak them but i'm not good at it. was just getting crashes. ram is stock, 1600 Thanks for the reply

I'm struggling with overclocking my 4770k, the best I can get so far is 4.4ghz with 1.28v At this voltage im getting 90c in prime95, 87c in occt and 65c while playing bf4. Are these temps acceptable while gaming? I know Haswell is hot but this is just nuts! I'm running a Corsair H110...

Jumping back into the PC world :)

Just buy 2 titans bro :P But seriously, dont go sli 480s! I had these back in the day and they were by far the loudest/hottest setup I have had. If you really wanted to buy RIGHT NOW, a gtx 770 would be able to handle bf4 pretty well IMO. The noise and heat reduction would be nice too. Try...

I am going to RMA this board, now I have to decide between the Gigabyte UD3H and equal offering from Asus. On a side note, after I hooked up my second 770 and oc'd my cpu to 4.4ghz, my score went from 29k to 45k in 3d Mark Vantage :))))) Thanks to all who helped me in this thread, much love!

Thanks for your reply! These problems came up before precision X. I only installed it for troubleshooting purposes. I just got my second gtx 770 in and it does the same thing, so its def not the card
