Didn't work unfortunately, I cleaned the disk and converted it to MBR. I'm honestly to the point where I want to go buy another drive. I've been messing with this for two days and getting really frustrated.
Hi everybody,
This is the first time I've had this problem and it's driving me insane. I have a Giada Cube (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16856176001) N3 that I use as an HTPC box. Its run Ubuntu 10.10 for a while, but Ubuntu 11.04 has caused nothing but headaches, so I'm trying...
You've gotta be kidding me. I paid $330 for my 6950 at Microcenter less than a week ago. /cry
EDIT: Nvm, didn't see that those prices are in euro. I don't feel too bad now.
I bought mine from Micro Center. Just so happens they were having an inventory glitch that day and I got my i5 2500k for $39.99 (it rang up as some .net book).
So (to all out there), if you wanna try your luck and see if they haven't fixed the glitch, head to the Micro Center in Rockville...
I really agonized over this decision too (except I wound up going 2500k). I figured I never do anything too demanding except for gaming, w hich the 2500k is perfectly fine fore. The fact that I got the CPU for $40 helps too.
You could almost fit another motherboard in there! Very nice. Similar to my build that I just put together Monday. I like the P67-UD3 for the price. I was originally going to get a P8P67 Pro, but Microcenter was out and I wanted to leave with everything I needed to build an operting...
I know it's not the same, but I have the P67A-UD3 and it works great. I haven't ventured much into overclocking yet, but it's been very stable. I really wanted to get the Asus P8P67 Pro, but micro center was out of it and I wanted to walk out of the store with all the components I needed for a...
Well you said your load temps dropped 8*C when you reseated your HSF and reapplied thermal compound, which leads me to believe you have load temps around 42*c (since you said in the first post that your load temps were around 50*C).
I think 42*C load temps are pretty damn good.
Your temps seem to be fine. I just put together a system with an i5 2500k (that I got for $40 D:) and all the cores idle between 22 and 24C and get up to around 50C under load (BC2). I'm using a stock intel HSF and some sort of Antec silver compound (about two rice-blobs worth, probably too...
Budget is probably a couple hundred bucks minus the drives. LG has a nice looking one on newegg for like $299. I'd use it for storing movie rips and files.
