hey one more thing to.. i had a p133 in a old computer and this sounds gross but i was driving home on trash day and found a old stripped down computer case and inside was a mobo with a p233.. horray i took it home and the processor worked fine in my p133 system...
win 98 se, or i hate to say it winme.. make sure you have the lates ie and direct x.. I have a p233 running on win98 and its ok for a p233 but it was faster with win95 , but win 95 has no usb 2 abilities.. if you are just trying to use usb 1.1 then win98 is fine.. good luck.. and try em all ..
one way to protect your idea while you go through the process is to mail yourself the plans and never open it.. this way you have a government post/stamped and data record of your idea that will hold up in court if someone tries to steal your idea..

one thing to look out for is alot of multipurpose printer/scanners will print fine being shared but the scanner will not be supported.. i dont know if this is something you should consider.. you may also just connect the printer directly to a pc and share the printer... this will save you...
I would by a router with a 5 port switch.. connect the router to the cable modem and the pc's to the switch ports.. once you do this you may half to tell the router to copy the mac address of the pc that is using the internet rite now.. did you call the tech support of your internet...
