The adapter actually does fit on the single dvi port but I don't get a video signal. I only get a video signal if I connect it to the dual-link port (which I want to reserve for the 3007)

Thanks, OP. Seems like a good deal. I was waiting for the Rosewill RSV-S8 to drop back down to ~$230. I use Flexraid to backup my WHS (v1) drives. The 4 bays in my WHS box and the 4 in the external eSATA enclosure are all full so this should give me some breathing room.

I had my old GTX460 connected to my 30" Dell and my X1 pj (via vga); however, I tried and tried and finally figured out that this card will not support both the dual-link dvi port and a dvi->vga adapter :(

Apparently you can wait up to a year to get the $40 renewal. So if you don't have any purchases lined up (or any videos you want to stream) you can wait a little. (I renewed right away)
People on SD are still getting them online (might be a glitch?) but if you call it seems to be OOS. So if you can't get it you might want to try another computer/browser. YMMV.
