Well, that is true, performance is poor. And I do, in fact, play at 800x600x16, no probs at this resolutions everything is still playable. Looks not bad - well V5 16bit color is not that much different from 32bit color. Right now I do play just occasionally and it perfectly still fits my needs...

I just like those useless comments about SUPERIOR nVidia drivers. Thats a plain BS. I still own my V5 and to be honest, I have tried probably almost all games out there recently (well, most of them just a demo), anyway, not a SINGLE driver issue. I have seen friends with GTS - not quite the same...

Geforce4 MX440 - do I really need the fan on it?

Well, if you do not want a fan, buy one of those Zalman special VGA card heatsinks. They are big and from copper, and they claim no fan is needed regardless what card you have. Just take a look at those....

Which anti-virus software ???

Well, yes, I had 2 viruses, each had infected like several files. The one that NAV found was Backdoor.Litmus.Gen virus and thats it. Kaspersky found this one and another one: Backdoor.BO2K.10 So, it was twice as many, since NAV did not find this virus at all. :)

What is Geforce4 440 Go like?

Hi! A guy I know just bought a laptop with GF4 440 Go graphics card inside. How does it compare to the normal desktop cards, where does it stand performance-wise approximately? I could not find any side-by side comparison tests out there on the net. Thanks.

Is there an MSCONFIG analogue for/in WinXP ???

On win98 there was a built-in little nice thing called msconfig. There one could change things in startup etc, etc. I was wondering if there is something like this in WinXP ??? Thanks.

How does a voodoo 5 compare?

Well, I think it compares to the Geforce2 GTS and Radeon. The new GF3 and Radeon 7500/8500 are faster. GF4 kicks its ass for sure. V5 is faster than Geforce2MX in most games that I have seen, except for maybe Quake3 or something. I have this card for more than a year now and it is great as all...

Where is ATI heading?

Dude there hasnt been a new Microsoft certified driver since Nov 13th, As a matter of fact none of the companies is very willing to certify their drivers at Microsoft. Guess why? Because it costs a lot of money just to get the stamp "MS certified" for the company and gives practically nothing...

need tips for installing 8500

Well, I do not think nVidia reg keys are hidden under MSWord or something, just be reasonable, deinstall nVidia drivers, change to VGA adapter, search registry for nVidia or Detonators or whatever and delete all entries that are left over. Thats it. This clean reinstall is the worst idea I ever...
