Yeah - Visor can do Email. I don't use the feature, so can't really tell you much about it. I think it attempts to synch with Outlook for that. Check out Visor Central For more info. There's some good reviews there. Cheers, Volitive

How to connect laptop & desktop via crossover cable?

If the laptop is using Novell, chances are, it's doing IPX/SPX. Try adding that protocol to your Networking configuration. Since the laptop is pigeonholed for Novell access at school, I'm pretty sure you don't want to mess the laptop up network-wise. So your best bet is to work on the PC...

That's actually interesting that CD-R Diagnostics didn't work - your using the software from http://www.cdrom-prod.com/? DirectCD works by writing to the disk in packets. When you erased those files, you only erased them from the table of contents - not from the disc. CD-R Diagnostics...

Possible KT7-RAID problem

Make sure that Soundblaster Live! isn't in PCI slot 5. The KT7-RAID make whatever PCI device in that slot share the IRQ with the RAID controller. Thus, if both your Live! and the RAID controller start going off, then you might have problems. PCI slot 5 is the slot next to the ISA/PCI combo...

Problem with KT7 and installing OS

Try to clear your CMOS, as in shorting the reset jumper on the board. I did tech support for HP Vectra's and Kayak's, and this was a big fixer for these types of odd problems. I'd also make sure Plug and Play OS is on. Also, try reseting the ESCD stuff (under PCI/PNP) and making sure...

KT7 and SB LIVE

It sounds like it could be sharing an IRQ with your video card. If doing anything video like that has an effect on sound, that's usually the case. I'd check your video drivers, make sure your not shadowing your video bios to ram under your CMOS settings, and check your AGP stuff. I just...

Best way to clean off processor when switching HS/Fan?

When I switched from the stock HSF that came with my T-bird to a Chrome Orb, I took some single edge razor blades (like those used to scrape paint, etc..) and scraped it off. It was great. Got everything off easy, then cleaned the rest with rubbing alcohol.
