Calvinh you seem to be having a lot of problems with your setup... :( Bad luck, it seems like a good system on paper.
I have an A7N8X-DLX MB rev 2.0 with a Barton 2500+, I've been using the UBER 1004 BIOS for many months now. RAM is Infineon 2 x 512MB PC3200. With this I can run at a FSB of...
I know you are getting a water system now but anyway... I had the same problem when I first got my 2500+ Barton and a Volcano 7+, same mobo. I had the heatsink on backwards... the indented part of the hs was on the wrong side :(
The reason your system is shutting down is that the C.O.P. feature...
No I can't get any of the 'real' stuff here. I'd need to order online.
I spread a thin amount with a peice of thin plastic, credit card like, and made an even layer, just enouhg to cover the die... less than a mm thickness.
My hfs is on right since I can't put it on backwards and have the Tt...
Hi all,
I've been having no problems with my 2500+ Barton for a few weeks now, everything working stable and relatively cool. Until now ;(
I noticed the diode and socket temps were getting higher than they were in the last few weeks, abouts 5C higher on average for the diode. I have not...
I agree with almost everyone here. Getting more for less is the whole point ;)
But you have to wonder what the point of a killer CPU is without a good graphics card to team it up with. Having a 3200+ and more with a Ti4200 is useless. But the real good cards, new FX and 9700-9800 are twice as...
I find it wierd that no matter how high I go with the vcore I can't get stable results above 2.25GHz.
Right now my 2500+ is running at 10x215=2150MHz with the stock vcore of 1.65V (although MBM5 shows the actual vcore at 1.68-1.70).
Raising the vcore will increase the diode idle and load temps...
Megatonic; I'm using MBM 5.3.3.0 also. So your 55C is the socket temp... but who knows exactly how each manufacturer setup their sensors. We really can't compare temps on different boards, esspecially with different ambient room temps.
Regs; I am getting up to 58C die temps under load also and...
So Megatomic, the 53C temp under 100% load is the reading from your motherboards sensor? Do you know what the CPU's die temp is?
Which program are you using to monitor the temps?
I'm stuck at the 2GHz mark. 2.1GHz is the limit for my Volcano 7+ :(
2500DKV4D 0320 MPMW
Ausu A7N8X Delux rev2 1004U
2x512MB Infineon PC3200 6-3-3-2.5
I can go over 200FBS no problems, but just can't get stable results over 2GHz.
Right now I'm on 9.5 x 210 = 2000 @ 1.65v (actual is around...
You're absolutely right, AMD saved my CPU. Thanks AMD ;)
But here is a more pressing issue. Now that I have got MBM5 installed I can see exactly whats happening... so here goes:
I have put the CPU to stock settings of 11x166=1833MHz and 1.65v, with RAM in sync. I have taken the HS off for the...
Thanks for the tips guys. So it could be that I'm at the limit with my current HSF... :(
I know that the Bartons don't overclock as far as 1700+s or 2100+s but I was hoping for more than 200MHz from the 2500+. Still it's a complete beast compared to my old setup. Gotta love AMD and nForce2 :)
Well now that my system is running properly I started playing around with overclocking.
So far my highest stable speed is exactly 2000MHz. I can't run at 2100 even on 1.75v. The CPU temps in the BIOS are about 55-58 degrees at these speeds, but anything over 2000MHz just reboots while in games...
Thanks to some other help and some more surfing on forums I found my problem.... I stupidly put the heatsink on backwards :(
It's on properly now and it works fine. Still playing around trying to get the best overclock...
Hi all,
I have just put together my new system and I am having some major CPU heat problems :( Here are the specs:
I have an Asus A7N8X Delux Rev.2 with the 1005 BIOS
AMD Athlon XP Barton 2500+ (AXDA2500DKV4D AQXDA 0320MPMW)
Thermaltake Volacano 7+
2x512MB PC3200 Infineon DDR
ATi Radeon...
Thanks for the comments, esspecially YoungChowFun ;)
Out of interest how much do the Alphas or slk800 go for in you part of the world? I'm in Europe, and as I said the Volcanos are 2 and 3 times cheaper than the two biggest Alphas.. and that's just too much I'm affraid...
Great forum BTW...
