Checked HWinfo64 and yes the core temps are about 10C higher.
I think I am just going to install an AIO and ignore the RGB factor (as it blocks the view for my case) for better temps and potentially higher OC.
So I am aiming for 85C core or the temp reported by the motherboard? Also this 85c...
So I have finished my build of my first SFF case. I am using the ncase m1.
I have a 7700k that has been delidded running at stock clocks/boost. During gaming it boosts to 4.5 @ 1.2v 57-60c (after a 4 hour session). I am using a Noctua d9l dual fan configuration to cool it.
Are these temps ok...
Q3 according to Asus press release.
I also really want to sink some money into my monitors but with this on the horizon I don't think its worth spending $800+ into any of the current high end monitors.
I might start buying Titans on release day. Sure they are expensive and you are paying for diminishing returns, but if you want the best you will have the best for over 6 months. This is pretty rare in the computer world.
Also seems like they can sell for 70-80% on the used market, that isn't...
Will Ryzen have a 4c8t competitor for the 7700k? in terms of clock speed?
I don't need 6-10 core CPU's for my current needs, but I just want the highest clock speed possible on a 4c8t CPU.
I was planning on setting up a backup drive, but does it matter whether or not its inside the system connected via SATA or outside connected via USB? from a reliability standpoint.
I also use online backup services as an additional copy but am not ready to setup my own offsite backup solution.
I am not worried about a power surge. Just trying to prevent damage in a software related issue.
I could load up my pc with multiple storage options, or I could keep the extra storage separate and just run a single 1 tb ssd on the system.
I suppose the external is better for data protection...
If I suffer a computer crash and it takes out the system drive, will/can it also take out the other drives?
The other drives will just have files stored on them, no programs or os files (that I know of).
That RAM will not fit with the x52. x52 has 35mm of ram clearance while the ram is 44mm or taller. For some bigger builds this isn't an issue if your not populating all ram slots, but for mitx the tubing will get in the way of the closest slot.
Will I be able to game on the upcoming Dell XPS 15 with 1050 4gb/7700hq?
The only games I play are GTA 5, CS:GO, and Overwatch. I play all of them on a 1080p 144hz panel.
