Well I can't say if it's k7s5a+Dx8.1 that's making the trouble But hey, in my case it (k7s5a+Dx8.1) worked well in windows 98, it was only causing problems in windows 2000. Did you find any clue?

Bios Settings For 1.0Ghz Duron

You might want to overclock it to 1100 or 1250Mhz (133Mhz FSB most prolly won't work) You can download the latest "hacked" BIOS (OC BIOS) from the ocworkbench.com that shows more FSB options than those that appear in the official BIOS. For me 110 and 124 work well. I ran 3dmark2001SE without...

ARRGH! bad bios flash

You might find some help on ocworkbench.com in your mobo's forums, that's a good resource for ECS k7s5a, so I guess there would be good help on Epox as well. In case of k7s5a, there's an faq's page, where all questions regarding bios, drivers, installation, oc'ing are listed.

Would that be as good as having an intake near the cpu, an intake at the back and an exhaust near the PCI slots? (I don't know, but my guess is that having an intake and exhaust at three places will have a better effect)
