Question *STABLE* NVMe - USB Adapter?

For FW. usually you can monitor it here in this thread or https://station-drivers.com/index.php/en/component/remository/Drivers/Realtek/NVMe-USB-3.1/orderby,4/lang,en-gb/ there. And for config i think you can see it on the app to flash but i forgot mine and used the default config. seems to be...

Yep. for Windows i think https://www.hdsentinel.com/ works fine. It works with a lot of enclosure bridge chips

Question *STABLE* NVMe - USB Adapter?

Yeah idk for sure since those are processes that run internally. But yeah i think if trim works it should be fine but yeah idk if the process where it moves the data from the pSLC cache to the TLC drive (if it's a TLC drive) still runs when it's immediately on power saving mode.

Question *STABLE* NVMe - USB Adapter?

Does it interfere with background garbage collection etc though? Since i do know that usually. They need it to be idle without any power saving mode to do their background thingy. Idk how true those are nowadays though.

Question *STABLE* NVMe - USB Adapter?

Usually you can get away without cooling for the bridge chip. But if you can cool it. It's better to do it since I have read in the old days that some bridge chips will disconnect etc and become unstable when too hot. Idk if today's bridge chip acts like that though.

Question *STABLE* NVMe - USB Adapter?

Yea. My ASM2362 and RTL9210B enclosures are running solid. I just made sure that it's using the latest firmware, a good cable, and last but not least. Proper cooling etc

Question *STABLE* NVMe - USB Adapter?

But GDFW isn't the actual firmware. That's the golden binary or something. You could just exchange that older GDFW with the newer one you have. The actual firmware being used is the latest, which is 1.31.17 for the B model

Question *STABLE* NVMe - USB Adapter?

Got the new RTL9210B firmware installed (1.31.17.102022) Firmware Link So far so good. This is on an NVMe with Journaled HFS+ partition. the speed on SEQ1M-QD1 is probably not as good because of my SSD.

Question *STABLE* NVMe - USB Adapter?

I've used Asus Strix Arion enclosure (ASM2362) for years now and it's been nice and stable for me (used in old MBA 2014 with Intel and MBP 2021 with M1 Pro chip). Now I'm getting a new enclosure and it says that it supports both NVMe and SATA which could only mean RTL9210 right? It's still on...

Question *STABLE* NVMe - USB Adapter?

Hey. I found out from a reddit thread that linked to your post here. That this firmware works with Strix Arion too. So I'm trying to flash it but I want to preserve all the "metadata" of the drive if that makes sense. To make sure that the rog lighting app still recognize it. I can change the...

Question *STABLE* NVMe - USB Adapter?

Anyone using ASM2362? I'm using the Strix Arion and my warranty is gonna expire soon so I might as well upgrade the firmware in it to the newest. It works fine on my 2013 MBA and Asus TUF c to c 10gbps laptop. But on my 2014 MBA it's weird. Sometimes it freezes sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes...
